Lessons From Klopp

Yesterday, amongst Sixty Thousand other people in the sunshine, me and my son got to say goodbye to Jurgen Klopp.

If you're not into Football or hate Liverpool please keep reading as I will bring it back round with a relevant point.

I'm a massive Liverpool fan and in the 7 years I've been taking my son, this was the first time we had managed to get tickets for the last home game so we've been super excited for months.

The noise was deafening, the mood was jubilant and every Liverpool (and quite a few Wolves fans too) wanted to pay respect to Jurgen.

Jurgen has been compared to many of the great Managers and one of my best mates is a Man Utd fan (I know, how did I let that happen!!), even he said he's going to miss him!!

Obviously since Fergie left, everything seems to have gone pear shaped for our rivals, but I don't see that happening at Liverpool. (and here comes the business bit)

Because they have been constantly working on a plan.

Liverpool 2.0 started at the beginning of the season, with a whole new, younger, fresher midfield, which has meant with have been able to compete at the top end of the table in a much stronger way this season.

Since Klopp announced he was leaving, the structure at the top of the club became the first priority. They took action and brought in some key figures which will mean the next steps of a smooth transition will be a lot easier.

Next season, they are already a great set of players for the new coach to work with. Unlike Utd when Fergie left a bunch of ageing players past their peak, Klopp has left some starlets who will continue to grow (it's one of the main reasons a lot of people are surprised he is leaving now).

In business, not having a plan and the right people on the bus is madness (as Utd have shown).
